Designed to allow clinicians to capture and display digital images from inside a patient’s mouth, intraoral cameras are a valuable tool for patient education and case documentation. Most commonly equipped with LEDs, these digital cameras can capture images without the need for external lighting.
While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient's mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles. These cameras are capable of magnifying images at a significant level. They also provide a first hand view to the patient as they can see the monitor where the pictures are being saved and downloaded. Having a record of the a patients mouth prior to treatment whic is fantastic for before and after cases.
