Dental Hygiene/Periodontal Health
Oral cancer screenings and scaling and root planing are just a couple ways your hygienist will take care of your teeth. People who smoke and rink often are most at risk. Your provider will check your neck, mouth and under your chin for lumps, discoloration or spots.
For plaque or tarter that accumulates above the gum line and is difficult to remove, we offer root planing services as well. For our patients with periodontal disease, we can help to keep it under control in order to make strides towards better oral health, and this is done through our periodontal cleanings and treatments. Your gums should always be cared for and inspected just as thoroughly as the teeth, and this should be done in order to avoid the damage caused by gum or periodontal disease.
Often there is plaque and tartar that accumulates below the gum line. In this scenario, we will clean and smooth this area with special instruments to ensure that the area is completely spotless. If this area is not kept clean the entire area can become irritated with the bacteria that resides in the tartar and plaque. It's very important to have your dentist check this area if you have bleeding during brushing.
Make sure you have a regular dental routine to maintain the health of your teeth!
